FAQs
What are Potato Flakes and how do I use them?
Dehydrated cooked potato, rolled into flakes. Add hot water or milk and they reconstitute into mash in a couple of minutes. They also work as a thickener and as a binder in cutlets and tikkis.
Do Potato Flakes contain preservatives?
No preservative, no added colour and no flavouring. Dehydration is what preserves them.
How much water do Potato Flakes need?
Roughly three parts hot liquid to one part flakes, added gradually and stirred. Add less at first - you can always loosen it, but you cannot easily thicken it again.
How should Potato Flakes be stored?
Airtight and completely dry. Any moisture that gets in will cause them to clump and spoil.
Are Potato Flakes a reasonable substitute for fresh potato?
For mash, binding and thickening, yes, and they keep far longer. For anything where you want the texture of a potato - roasting, frying, curry - use fresh.
Are Potato Flakes gluten free?
Dehydrated potato contains no gluten of its own. It is handled on shared equipment, so tell us if you need a strictly gluten-free run.
What makes Potato Flakes from Miller Stores different?
No preservative, no added colour and no flavouring - dehydration is what preserves them, and nothing else is needed.
What our customers say
Firstly, the welcome was so cool and unbiased — I didn't see anywhere oil and spices getting ready in front of us like here. You can see the oil getting prepared in front of you, which made it so comforting and reliable. The oil, spices and mirchi powder I bought were too good and tasty. Staff has great knowledge about the food sector.
They offer a great variety of fresh produce, cold-pressed oils, grains and eco-friendly products — all at fair prices. Clean store, timely delivery, and excellent product quality. Both Shashi and Kiran have demonstrated very friendly customer experience. Highly recommend their freshly made cold-pressed oils!
